- Composition of participants. 51% male, 49% female; average age 43 (skewed to older end), 50% married, 16% divorced, 31% never married, remaining participants widowed. Average householdsizes mirrors those of general Canadian population: 2,7. Roughly 21% lives alone, 25% as couples, 38% in nuclear families with two parents plus one or more children, 8% lone-parent families.78% has English as first language, 13% French and 1,5% German.
